From the early hours of Tuesday, September 17, 1404 (17 Shahrivar 1404), the price of the third grade of gasoline rose from 5,000 to 10,000 tomans, although the rationed prices of 1,500 and 3,000 tomans remained unchanged.

However, citizens’ concerns are not only about the price of gasoline. From house rent and transport fares to the prices of goods and daily expenses, fear of a new wave of price hikes among people has increased.

In this report, citizens talk about long lines at fuel stations, reduced purchasing power, rising costs of living, and pressure that, according to them, is not only economic and has also affected people’s relationships, sense of security, and ability to endure.

In Iran, previous increases in gasoline prices have also had consequences beyond the economy. In Aban 1398, for example, protests that formed after a fuel price increase quickly expanded into large-scale unrest.
