The French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle (R91) is no longer operating in the Middle East and has returned to its main base in Toulon, France.

The carrier was initially deployed to the Mediterranean Sea at the order of President Macron, and later, as part of France’s mission to help open the Strait of Hormuz, to the Arabian Sea.
