🔻Exclusive; The Ministry of Intelligence uses a drug addiction rehabilitation camp instead of Evin Prison’s Ward 209

BBC Persian has learned that Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence has, at present, replaced Ward 209 with a drug addiction rehabilitation camp. With the start of the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran, the Ministry of Intelligence emptied Ward 209.

For years, the Ministry of Intelligence had used Ward 209 to hold people who were under interrogation and to serve their temporary detention period. The first floor of this ward, which mainly consists of administrative offices, was damaged during the 12-day war.

Since the U.S. and Israeli attacks, no reports have been published about transferring detainees to this ward.

Now, BBC has found that, with the evacuation of the 209 building, the Ministry of Intelligence has transferred many detainees to a drug addiction rehabilitation camp on the Fashafuyeh road.
