Drone shows charred remains of Philippines ferry after lethal fire
At least 76 people have died after the M/V June Aster caught fire off the coast of Coron in the Philippines.
Aerial footage shows the charred wreckage of the vessel, which was engulfed in flames following an explosion in its hold.
Roughly 130 individuals, including the captain, remain missing, though verifying exact figures is difficult due to notoriously unreliable passenger manifests in the region.
Family members are grieving amidst the ongoing recovery efforts. Victim identification specialist Police Lt. Colonel Richard Mangalip noted that most recovered victims suffered severe burns and stated that teams are working to collect any identifiable marks for DNA processing.
