Chris Wright, U.S. energy secretary, said in an interview with CNN: “Iranians are still causing problems, but the U.S. Navy is winning this battle.”

Wright said that, currently, on average more than 9 million barrels of oil are passing through the Strait of Hormuz each day, and, taking into account pipeline routes that bypass the waterway, the flow of oil transfers has reached two-thirds or more of the level before the clashes began.

Reuters reported that before the clashes began, about one-fifth of global oil supply was passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The Islamic Republic has blockaded the strait, and the United States has implemented a blockade of Iranian oil exports since mid-April.

On Sunday, September 15 (Shahrivar 15), CENTCOM announced that U.S. forces, in order to enforce the maritime blockade, have so far diverted the routes of 92 commercial vessels, disabled three vessels, and boarded two vessels.
