Chris Wright, the U.S. energy minister, said that more contracts with oil companies in Venezuela will be announced soon.

Wright previously said that contracts by American oil companies and those from other countries with Venezuela and the investments resulting from them will more than double the country’s oil production over the next few years.

He said that increasing investment in Venezuela’s energy industry could significantly boost the country’s oil production capacity and help lower oil prices.
