At the same time as the funeral procession for Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei continues in Mashhad, the “Saberin News” channel reported the occurrence of a shooting incident on Fakouri Boulevard.

According to this report, two unidentified individuals wearing military uniforms fired at a group of Basij forces using a sidearm.

Following this armed attack, one Basij force member died at the scene and another person died after being transferred to the hospital. Saberin News added that the attackers had fled the scene and that the security forces’ operation to identify and arrest them was still ongoing

Meanwhile, the security and law-enforcement deputy of the governor of Razavi Khorasan, in an interview with the state news agency “IRNA,” announced that the shooting incident on Thursday evening (around 10 p.m.) in the “Sarafrazan” area of Mashhad was “caused by a personal dispute and had no terrorist nature whatsoever.”
