A Republican lawmaker from New York in the U.S. House of Representatives and a member of the Intelligence Committee and the Ways and Means Committee said the Islamic Republic and its proxy forces have no intention, in the current period, of reaching a compromise or achieving an agreement.

Claudia Tenney said this in response to statements by Donald Trump, the president of the United States, about the possibility of an end to the fighting after the midterm elections.

Tenney emphasized that the Islamic Republic knows that the continuation of the fighting and the pressure resulting from it can affect the domestic political atmosphere of the United States and the Republican majority in Congress.

She criticized the policy of Democratic administrations toward Iran and said Republicans should continue the current path of pressure on the Islamic Republic.

Referring to the rise in gas prices in the United States, the Republican lawmaker said she expects that, as Trump predicted, fuel prices will fall.
