The International Energy Agency has predicted that Iran’s gas consumption will decline this year following attacks targeting some industrial facilities. The agency says that Iran’s industrial gas consumption in 2026 will fall by about 8%, energy sector consumption by about 3%, and electricity power plants by 4%. The reason is the significant damage to Iran’s petrochemical and steel facilities, as well as damage to the gas processing facilities of South Pars and Assaluyeh in Israeli attacks. According to this report, total gas consumption in the country will decrease by 3% compared with last year. Iran produced 280 billion cubic meters of raw gas last year, of which 15 billion cubic meters were exported to Turkey and Iraq.
