🔻Zarif and Qasim Munir hold talks for the “revival of diplomatic efforts”

Abbas Iraqchi, Iran’s foreign minister, and Asim Munir, the commander of Pakistan’s armed forces, discussed regional developments in a telephone call yesterday. Iran’s government information website said the two “exchanged views on intensifying tensions, increasing insecurity in the region, and its consequences for regional peace and stability.”

A Pakistani security official told Reuters today that the reduction of tension between Iran and the United States across all fronts and the resumption of talks along the axis of these negotiations were among the topics of the call.

The fighting by the Houthis, allied with Iran, against the government of Yemen, which is supported by Saudi Arabia, was also among the issues discussed.

Some media outlets and government-supporting users on social media attributed the relatively lower price of oil in the past few hours to this phone call and criticized Iran’s foreign minister.
