🔻Washington Post: 756 U.S. servicemembers have been wounded in the war in Iran

The Washington Post has reported that the number of U.S. servicemembers killed or wounded in the war in Iran has reached 774; this came after the Pentagon added the names of dozens of other servicemembers to the list of the wounded in recent days.

Based on the Pentagon’s casualty reporting system, so far 18 U.S. servicemembers have been killed and 756 others have been wounded.

The figures have been rising while the United States and Iran have, in recent weeks, often been in a ceasefire situation. As the Washington Post writes, part of the increase in the numbers may be due to the time gap between the registration of injuries in the Army medical system and their entry in the official casualty database.

The U.S.-Iran ceasefire ended on Monday, and Donald Trump did not extend it. However, since then, neither side has resumed any large-scale military operations.

The war that Mr. Trump said would end within a few weeks is now in its sixth month.
