Iran was supposed to issue a statement announcing the opening of the Strait of Hormuz; instead, it attacked civilian ships.

The United States remains prepared to reach a diplomatic solution with Iran, and we are receiving signals through multiple channels indicating Iran’s willingness to negotiate, but there is a growing disagreement within the regime.

For those Iranians who want to negotiate, if they can take control of the situation, that would be a positive development; but for now, that has not happened.
