The UN Security Council, in a closed-door meeting, reviewed the security arrangements after the end of UNIFIL’s mandate. The meeting was held at France’s request, and members of the council discussed options for the UN’s presence after the withdrawal of peacekeeping forces and the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
