The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the U.S. maritime blockade against the Islamic Republic remains fully in effect.

In a statement it published on the social media platform X, CENTCOM said that as of Saturday, the third of Mordad, it had diverted 12 commercial ships that attempted to pass through the blockade, deactivated two ships that did not comply with the blockade, and dispatched its forces to two other ships to ensure full compliance with the blockade.

The statement says that on Saturday, U.S. forces completed the boarding operation of the ship “Chaarminar” flying the flag of Comoros in the Arabian Sea, and that this oil tanker is now continuing its voyage.

CENTCOM also wrote that on the same day U.S. forces deactivated the ship “Lauvin” flying the flag of Mozambique in the Gulf of Oman, adding that the action was taken after the crew of the vessel made several attempts to violate the blockade and ignored repeated warnings.

CENTCOM emphasized that the ship is no longer heading toward Iran and said: “U.S. forces are highly alert, focused, lethal, and ready.”
