Today I reached an agreement that will significantly reduce the price of ground beef for American working families. As everyone knows, during the Biden presidency, the price of beef rose at the fastest rate and the number of beef cattle in the United States reached the lowest level in modern history. While we work to rebuild this herd and help our ranchers, the United States will allow, over the next 90 days, up to 300 thousand metric tons of product used to produce ground beef to enter the country without imposing additional tariffs beyond the quota. We have received a commitment that this meat will be sold at a price 25% lower than the current market price. This agreement will not only reduce prices for Americans, but will also provide the necessary opportunity for the large American beef herd to grow again. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
