🔶 The United States Sends the USS Theodore Roosevelt for a Mission in the Middle East Lasting at Least 7 Months

The U.S. Navy said that the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71), its escort ships, and Carrier Air Wing 11 stationed on the carrier will head to the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) area after departing San Diego in the coming weeks.

Based on a report by USNI News, affiliated with the U.S. Naval Institute, the carrier is expected to replace the USS George Washington (CVN-73), which is based in Japan and entered the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet area last week.

Since the start of Operation “Praying Mantis,” on February 28, the United States has maintained the presence of an aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea, carried out offensive missions over Iran, and then imposed a subsequent naval blockade against the Iranian government.
