The U.S. newspaper "The Wall Street Journal" reported on Monday, 26 Mordad 1405 that over the past two months, the Islamic Republic, rather than placing its trust in the path of negotiations with the United States, has devoted its efforts to preparing for a broader confrontation with the United States and Israel.

Citing remarks by Iranian and Arab officials whose names it did not publish, the newspaper wrote that "hardline leaders in Iran," after the Islamabad agreement, reached this assessment that the accord may be a U.S. and Israeli effort to ease pressure on the global economy and buy time for a larger attack in the future.
