❌ The new prime minister of the UK approved the use of UK soil by the U.S. army to carry out airstrikes on the Islamic Republic of Iran using bombers.

Bloomberg news agency reported on Tuesday, 30 Tir (30th of the Iranian month of Tir), that Andy Burnham, the new prime minister of Britain, has agreed to the United States’ use of British military bases for what London calls “defensive attacks” against Iran, thereby continuing the policy of his predecessor, Keir Starmer.

The agency, citing sources familiar with the matter, wrote that Starmer held a meeting on 26 Tir with ministers and senior officials to review Britain’s policy after the resumption of U.S. operations earlier this month.

These sources added that at that meeting, the ministers decided that the existing policy should continue.

Under this policy, the Diego Garcia base in the Indian Ocean and the “RAF Fairford” airbase in Gloucestershire, England, can be made available to American aircraft that carry out missions to counter the threat of an Iranian missile, as well as related targets in the Strait of Hormuz.
