The claim that arose after the release of the first data about the oil slicks in Qeshm said that, instead of stopping production, the government is now transferring the oil to the sea because halting extraction operations—especially from some older wells—could lead to significant losses. How much could the hypothesis of organized smuggling of oil products be raised? So far, the Islamic Republic has not published any clear report or documented evidence regarding the origin of the oil slicks in Qeshm, the steps that have been taken, the extent of damage to the environment and the ecosystem of that region, and many other fundamental issues.
