Reuters: NATO’s senior commander, General Aleksis Greinkovich of the U.S. Air Force, convened a video conference to examine the allies’ role in supporting freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, while emphasizing that it is not a NATO mission.

The meeting, hosted by the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, brought together representatives at the level of the chiefs of defence staff of interested allied countries to discuss how NATO’s coordination strengths could help in this effort, while avoiding direct involvement in any confrontation with Iran.
