Qatar, Kuwait and the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council strongly condemned the Houthi drone attack on the Saudi province of Taif. Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense said that, following the interception of the drone, one person was killed and two others were injured.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar described the attack as “an aggressive and shameful act” and a violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and of international law, emphasizing full solidarity with Riyadh. Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said the attack violated Saudi sovereignty and international law as well as international humanitarian law, and announced its support for Riyadh’s actions to preserve security and stability. The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council likewise said that targeting civilians further increases the danger of tensions and violates international rules and customs.
