Majid Aadineh, the “everlasting soldier” whose life he devoted to people

Majid Aadineh spent about 20 years of his life supporting orphaned and deprived children, disadvantaged families, and people living on the streets. He first established the Fadak institute in Sarsiab-e Ferdis and then the Abshar-e Sabz e Adefe institute in Mohammadshahr at his own expense, and along with benefactors supported around 50 families with provisions, stationery, and other needs.

He also held wedding ceremonies twice for 10 couples who were unable to manage and who had Down syndrome.

In these centers, language, lessons, sports, swimming, guitar, santour, daf, theater, Shahnameh recitation, painting, and computer classes were held.

The children of the center provided medical conferences in English, German, and Turkish (Istanbul) language, and there was charity accepted in America if the children of this institute were admitted in medical and paramedical fields, and then the charity would take them to America at its own expense for their studies.

Majid Aadineh, a retired military officer, was present at the protests on 19 Dey. After the crowd dispersed, he was moving toward the location of the charity together with Mehdi Hasari (one of the children of the center) when a car turned in front of them. During the confrontation, his mobile phone was lost and his handgun was confiscated. The next day, agents raided his home and his charity, taking a power saw that was kept in a storeroom and was among the horticultural tools of the complex, and presenting it as one of the items in the allegations against him, while, according to the family’s account, he had been without a vehicle that night and did not have the possibility to transport such a large tool.

Majid and Mehdi Hasari’s family were threatened, and for a long time no news was published about Majid’s condition. He was tortured in prison, and even the bones of his shoulder blade were damaged. Despite having four lawyers, his family learned about his execution only in the morning of the day the sentence was carried out.

More bitterly, the same media outlet that once had praised Majid Aadineh as a benefactor and a good-hearted human being now introduced him with the charge of “espionage.”

Majid Aadineh devoted his life to children and to deprived people, and in the end, he lost his life in a tragic and unjust way.

Let us not remember the name of Majid Aadineh with the false accusations they made against him; instead, let us remember him with his years of kindness and his honor.
