🔸 Local rescue officials said that as a result of an avalanche falling on a group of mountaineers in the North Caucasus of Russia, at least 11 people were killed and six others were injured.

🔸 The avalanche occurred on Shahrivar 15 from Mount Mizhiryga, one of the tallest peaks in the region, and trapped a group of 33 mountaineers.

🔸 By 9:00 a.m. on Shahrivar 16, 10 mountaineers had managed to get down the mountain, but the fate of the other six remained unknown.

🔸 More than 50 rescue personnel were involved in the search and rescue operation; however, difficult conditions in the area and the high risk of further avalanches had made rescue efforts challenging.
