🔺Large-scale fires in France and Spain; hundreds of thousands evacuated

▪ Widespread wildfires in the southwest of France and the center of Spain have forced thousands of people to leave their homes, and have prompted officials in both countries to mobilize extensive emergency forces. In France, the flames have been advancing toward the city of Bordeaux; and in Spain as well, the government for the first time has declared a national state of emergency due to wildfires.
