Kayhan newspaper, published under the supervision of the representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, wrote in a note that the Islamic Republic must officially announce that if any Iranian oil tanker is attacked, in addition to all the oil tankers currently in the vicinity of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, all oil tankers that are even outside this region and within the range of targeting will also be targeted.

The newspaper wrote that the number of oil tankers taken out of the operational cycle in the world could increase to such an extent that even if the Strait of Hormuz is fully reopened and conditions return to normal, there would no longer be enough tankers to transport oil via this route.

Kayhan added that in this situation, the oil market would face a historic supply shortfall and prices would rise to a level that had not been predicted.

The newspaper emphasized that the Islamic Republic must, through precise planning, identifying the enemy’s sensitive points, and using its military and economic capacities, turn “aggressive deterrence” into a tangible and frightening reality for the enemy.
