🔶 Israel declares the area around Gaza a temporary “closed military zone”
The Israeli army has declared the area around the Gaza Strip a “closed military zone” from 8:00 a.m. Sunday, 28 Tīr 1405, until 8:00 a.m. Monday.
According to The Times of Israel, the decision was made ahead of a major march toward the area by the right-wing settler group “Nachala.” The group, founded by a right-wing activist named Daniela Weiss, supports the reestablishment of Israeli settlements in Gaza.
The report says: “The closed area includes all areas around Gaza, from the kibbutz ‘Yad Mordechai’ in the north of the strip to Route 232 in the east and to ‘Kerem Shalom’ at its southernmost point.”
The outlet also wrote, citing a military source, that the order to close the area was issued due to the “settler group’s intent to enter the Gaza Strip illegally.”
