🎥 Ismail Baghaei, spokesperson of the Islamic Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on Sunday, 11 Mordad 1405, on state television that any possible agreement between Iran and Oman regarding a new sea route has nothing to do with the reopening or continuation of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Baghaei also said that Tehran and Muscat’s talks on this issue are purely bilateral negotiations and “do not concern anyone else.”

In an interview with state television, Baghaei said that Iran-Oman negotiations to reach an understanding on a secure maritime route had begun some time ago and are not a new development. He added that the Islamic Republic and Oman, as two coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz, must reach a common mechanism to ensure the safe passage of ships.
