The government-run news agency IRNA reported that Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of the Islamic Republic, will travel to New York on Tuesday, 31 Shahrivar, to attend and deliver a speech at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to this report, he is scheduled to meet and hold consultations with a number of heads of state and officials of countries on the sidelines of the General Assembly.

The news agency did not mention the names of these leaders and officials.

As IRNA wrote, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, arrived in New York on Monday evening to attend the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

On his way to New York, Amir-Abdollahian made a brief stop in Doha, where he consulted with Qatari officials about the latest developments in the region.

Meanwhile, Habibollah Abbasi, the director-general of public relations for the president’s office, told the Mehr news agency that the United States has not issued visas for the media team of the Islamic Republic to accompany Pezeshkian.
