Iraq’s prime minister’s office announced that a military commander of the country was removed from his post after the completion of investigations into drone attacks on Saudi Arabia from his side.

According to the statement, the investigations confirmed that the drones targeting Saudi Arabia had taken off from Iraqi territory.

Ali al-Failh al-Zaydi, the prime minister and commander-in-chief of Iraq’s armed forces, after confirming the launching of hostile drones at Saudi Arabia from Maysan Province, dismissed the commander of operations in that province from his position.

The Iraqi prime minister also ordered the formation of a committee to review the performance of the operations command in Maysan and investigate how these attacks were carried out from one of the points in this province.

Iraq’s prime minister’s office did not publish the name of the dismissed commander, his position, or further details about the perpetrators of these attacks.
