🔻Iraq Removes Military Commander of Maysan Province After Attack on Saudi Arabia

Ali al-Zayidi, Iraq’s prime minister, announced in a statement that, based on reports received, the drone that targeted Saudi Arabia was launched from the country’s Maysan Province.

The prime minister of Iraq also said that after investigations confirmed that the attack was carried out from an area under the supervision of the Maysan provincial operations commander, he was dismissed from his post.

The statement said that the Prime Minister’s Office has ordered the formation of a committee to investigate and review the performance of the “Maysan Operations Command.”

Maysan Province is in the southeastern part of Iraq and borders Iran, with its administrative center being the city of Amarah.
