Iran’s state newspaper, in an analytical report, lists six reasons for the Islamic Republic’s attacks on Kuwait during the recent clashes with the United States, and describes the country as one of the main targets of Tehran’s military strategy.

In this report, Kuwait’s geographic proximity to Iran is cited as the first reason for this choice. Kuwait’s distance of less than 200 kilometers from Iran’s coasts allows the Islamic Republic to deliver “heavy blows” without entering into direct involvement with the U.S. fleet in the Persian Gulf.
