A collision between a bus carrying Arbaeen pilgrims and a Peugeot 405 passenger car on the Dehloran–Indimeşk axis left three people dead and one seriously injured.

The head of the pre-hospital emergency services in Ilam Province announced that the incident occurred on Monday, seven kilometers from the Dasht Abbas district, on the Dehloran to Indimeşk road.

Shabani added that despite the efforts of the emergency medical experts, three occupants of the Peugeot 405—two women aged 22 and 42 and one man aged 50—died at the scene due to the severity of their injuries.

He said the deceased were Arbaeen pilgrims and residents of Lordegan County in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province.

According to the head of the pre-hospital emergency services in Ilam Province, a 12-year-old boy was also severely injured in the accident, and after initial medical measures and stabilizing his condition, he was transferred to a treatment center as quickly as possible with a critical general condition.

The incident comes at a time when just a few days ago, a Peugeot car overturned on the same axis, killing four Arbaeen pilgrims from Lorestan Province—an event that once again highlights the need to improve safety on the Indimeşk–Dehloran axis and adopt effective measures to reduce road accidents.
