In recent months, several bookstores in different cities across Iran have been closed; a trend that has led to the change of use of some of these units and their replacement with other businesses such as real estate agencies and cafes.

In western Tehran, the bookstore “Hamisheh” has been shut down, and its premises have been turned into a real estate agency. In Ahvaz as well, the “Cbook” bookstore has been closed and the cafe “Lemiz” has replaced it.
