Hossein Mohabi, spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, claimed that the number of casualties among American forces during Operation “Nasr 2” is far higher than the figures announced by Washington. Mohabi, in an interview with Tasnim news agency, called the United States’ official statistics on casualties from this attack “outright lies” and said that the IRGC targeted eight centers housing U.S. forces during Operation “Nasr 2.” He claimed that in only one of these centers, 20 hangars were completely destroyed due to missile strikes. The IRGC spokesman also claimed that more than 200 American servicemembers were killed in this operation, and that the number of the wounded is “much higher” than this figure. Mohabi asked American citizens, according to his account, not to allow “lying commanders” to trick them. He also asked the U.S. government to send journalists to visit the sites of the attacks so that, as he said, the actual extent of damage and casualties can be determined. U.S. officials have not, so far, confirmed these claims and have provided different figures regarding casualties and the damage resulting from these attacks.
