“Donald Trump,” the President of the United States, announced in the early hours of Monday, Aug. 12, 1405 AH that a sweeping military attack, which he said had been prepared for execution against Iran, was stopped at Iran’s request, as well as at the request of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. He also claimed that negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran would begin the afternoon of the day after the military operation was canceled (Monday), and that their goal would be to reach an agreement regarding the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.
Speaking with reporters aboard the presidential aircraft, Trump, in response to the question of what caused the cancellation of the attack the previous night, said: “Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Iran asked me not to do this. We were almost ready to carry out the operation, and it was supposed to be a massive attack. Everything was ready for execution, but when allies ask you to cancel the strike, you have to see what happens.”
