A man who had been sentenced to death over allegations of killing the temporary prayer leader (imam) of one of the neighborhood mosques in Tehran’s Ponak was exactly upheld by the Supreme Court. According to reports from Iranian media, the case of this defendant has now been referred for enforcement of the sentence to the Fourth Branch of the Enforcement Office of the Tehran Office of Criminal Prosecution.

According to reports from Iranian media, the defendant is a 40-year-old man with a PhD in pharmacy who had been dismissed from his workplace before the incident occurred.
