Axios reported that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told several foreign counterparts that “at the moment” the United States has no plan to carry out new attacks against Iran.

Instead, the Trump administration has focused on other forms of pressure, including a naval blockade and a campaign of new sanctions that were recently announced.

Rubio said that although Washington is not in the process of preparing to return to large-scale military operations, it may still carry out an attack if Iran launches an attack first.

It is expected that this policy will continue at least until after the U.S. midterm elections; after that, the likelihood of reviewing another military campaign will increase.
