🔻According to Iranian media, the International Federation of Fitness and Bodybuilding (IFBB), by sending an official letter, did not recognize the outcome of the recent election for the presidency of the Iranian bodybuilding federation due to violations and suspended the federation and its president.
🔹The main reason for this decision, as stated, is the presence of “significant irregularities” in the election assembly held on 20 Mordad and the lack of equal opportunity for all candidates.
🔹According to this report, the IFBB has announced that it does not recognize Mojtaba Maleki as the new president. In the letter from the world federation, it is stated that Abdolmahdı Nasirzadeh, the former president of the federation and a member of the IFBB executive committee, was not able to secure a chance to take part in the election. Also, Nasirzadeh and Sadegh Hashemi, contrary to the official approval of the IFBB, have been deprived of the right to vote in the general assembly.
🔹The global federation emphasized that this suspension will continue until the conditions are corrected. However, Iranian athletes, coaches, and referees can still participate in international events and competitions, provided that all registration and participation matters are pursued only through the two Iranian members of the IFBB executive committee, namely Nasirzadeh and Hashemi.
