The U.S. State Department on Tuesday, in its latest travel advisory, set the warning level about Saudi Arabia to Level 3, “Reconsider Travel.”

The U.S. State Department cited the risk of attacks targeting U.S. interests in Saudi Arabia through missiles and drones from the Islamic Republic, armed conflict, terrorism, restrictions on leaving the country, and local laws regarding activity on social networks.

The ministry also said that some areas of Saudi Arabia face higher risk and asked U.S. citizens to review the full travel advisory before traveling.

In this advisory, the border region of Saudi Arabia with Yemen is placed at Level 4, “Do Not Travel.”

The U.S. State Department said it made this decision due to the threat of terrorism and stated that armed groups in Yemen have previously targeted border cities and other areas of Saudi Arabia with armed drones, missiles, and rockets.

The ministry also said that since the start of Iran’s war on the 9th of Esfand last year, the threat of missile and drone attacks by the Islamic Republic against Saudi Arabia has continued.
