— The Wall Street Journal: Amid rising trade tensions between the United States and Canada, the U.S. Department of Justice’s antitrust division was for a short time instructed to suspend cooperation with Canadian officials.

In an internal email, staff were asked to stop cooperation on joint cases and policy-related interactions with Canada; however, the Department of Justice later said that the order was the result of a misunderstanding and that the initial instruction was only about postponing a scheduled meeting.

The official who issued the instruction later corrected it, and staff were informed that cooperation with Canada could continue.
