🔻The United States asked its citizens to “reconsider” travel to Saudi Arabia
🔻The U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, in a statement it issued, asked U.S. citizens to “reconsider” travel to Saudi Arabia.
The embassy cited risks such as “the targeting of U.S. interests by Iranian drones and missiles, armed clashes, terrorism, the prohibition on leaving the country, and local laws related to activity on social networks.”
The statement also said that some areas of Saudi Arabia carry greater risk.
The U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Riyadh also advised its citizens not to travel to the border of Saudi Arabia with Yemen “due to the threat of terrorism.”
Since the renewed outbreak of Yemen’s civil war in July, the Houthis have been engaged in new battles with forces of the Yemeni government, which is supported by Saudi Arabia.
The group has also declared a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia and targeted the country’s ships in the Red Sea.
