The U.S. Army on Tuesday targeted two Iranian state tankers within a new policy known as “Tanker for Tanker”; a policy pursued with the aim of deterring attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
U.S. officials said that about 100 Iranian targets were hit, including air defense systems, missile launchers, radar systems, and drone positions.
In response, Iran targeted the area with missiles and drones from American forces in the region; however, officials said that most of these attacks were intercepted and that no casualties have been reported so far.
