🔶 The New York Times: The United States is concerned about the leakage of F-35 technology from Saudi Arabia to China
According to a report by The New York Times, U.S. intelligence and security circles have expressed concern about the possibility that China could obtain sensitive technologies used in F-35 fighter jets if these aircraft are sold to Saudi Arabia.
The newspaper’s report says that the arms deal between Washington and Riyadh involves the sale of 48 F-35 fighter jets worth $24 billion.
The Pentagon’s defense and intelligence agency has expressed concern that China might gain access to the advanced radar and surveillance systems of these fighters through espionage in Saudi Arabia or through increasingly close security cooperation with the country.
Among these concerns, reference is made to China’s access to Saudi Arabia’s military facilities, as well as the use of Chinese communications equipment in the country.
