— The New York Times: The Pentagon has launched a broad investigation into the leaking of classified information and has put about 50 members of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff under a polygraph test.
The investigation began after reports were published about shortages of some key U.S. munitions during the war with Iran.
Investigators have asked officers and civilian personnel whether they provided classified information to journalists—including information related to reduced inventories of missile stockpiles and Patriot interceptor missiles.
Officials have described the scope of this investigation to senior military personnel as unprecedented.
