🔸 نورنیوز, a media outlet close to Ali Shamkhani, revealed that the meeting in which he and several senior Iranian military commanders were killed—on the day the 40-day war began—had been convened, among other things, to follow up on a new plan aimed at organizing forces and providing new equipment to confront protests.

🔸 This outlet wrote on Friday, the 2nd of Mordad, that one of the two agenda items for the morning meeting of the 9th of Esfand, 1404, was the pursuit of implementing the plan titled “Organizing resources, structures, manpower, and providing new equipment to manage unrest.”

🔸 The second agenda item also stated that the imminence of an attack by the United States and Israel on Iran was to be assessed.

🔸 According to NoorNews, this plan had been prepared after the widespread protests of Dey 1404, and Ali Khamenei, the former Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, had agreed to its implementation and stressed the need to speed up its operationalization.

🔸 The report also says that Khamenei had asked the Secretariat of the Defense Council and Ali Shamkhani personally to pursue the implementation of this plan up to the execution stage, instead of the Supreme National Security Council.

🔸 Ali Shamkhani, who served as secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic from 1392 to 1402, was appointed secretary of the Defense Council after it was formed in 1404.

🔸 NoorNews has claimed that the objective of this plan was to increase the readiness of security and law-enforcement forces to confront future protests with “the lowest possible level of damage and human casualties.”

🔸 During the protests in Dey, the Iranian government carried out the bloodiest crackdown on protests in the history of the Islamic Republic, through widespread internet outages and the use of lethal force.
