Reuters reported on Wednesday, 18 Shahrivar, that the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency approved a resolution referring the Islamic Republic’s nuclear file to the United Nations Security Council because of violations of obligations related to the prevention of the proliferation of nuclear weapons.

According to the report, the adoption of this resolution means referring the Islamic Republic’s file to the Security Council following the Board of Governors’ assessment of Tehran’s non-compliance with safeguards obligations.

Reuters, citing diplomats, reported that the resolution was adopted with 23 votes in favor, three against, and eight abstentions.
