Jordan’s army said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed three missiles launched from Iranian soil.
The Jordanian army said on Wednesday, 24 Tir, in a statement that the operation was carried out within the framework of approved defensive measures to protect the sovereignty of the kingdom and the security of citizens, and it caused no human or material damage.
In a statement by the army, citing a responsible military source, it said: “In the early hours of this Wednesday, the air defense systems intercepted and brought down three ballistic missiles that had entered Jordan’s airspace from Iranian soil.”
The source emphasized that the attacks “left no human or material damage.”
Iran’s official television had reported on Wednesday that the army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps carried out attacks against American targets in Jordan and Kuwait after U.S. attacks on Iran.
The Iranian army also said it targeted the Al-Zarq base in Jordan with a drone.
