«Humor isn’t just a pleasant thing»; for Javad Majabi, humor was not only a way to make people laugh, but a way to question power, tradition, and dominant beliefs.
Javad Majabi, poet, writer, humorist, journalist, painter, and literary and arts critic, died on Shahrivar 14. He bridged poetry and fiction, humor and politics, journalism and research, and the word and the image; he recorded the history of contemporary Iranian satire and art, and defended the freedom and independence of the writer.
Kambiz Hosseini, in “Barnameh,” commemorates Javad Majabi.
