Ismail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic, said on Wednesday evening, 18 Shahrivar, that referring the Islamic Republic’s nuclear file to the United Nations Security Council “is basically not a relevant issue, because Tehran has not committed any kind of non-compliance.”
Baghaei said the items raised in a resolution of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency as non-compliance are “stemming from attacks by the United States and Israel.”
He called the actions of Western countries “contradictory” and said they had previously spoken, within the framework of the “snapback” mechanism, about the return of UN Security Council resolutions against Iran.
Regarding Japan and Saudi Arabia’s positive vote on this resolution, Baghaei said: “Surely they will not achieve any result with this resolution.”
