🔶IRGC: Two oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz were blown up and stopped after hitting a naval mine

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Wednesday, 11 Shahrivar (September 2), that two oil tankers, while attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, collided with naval mines and became disabled.

In a statement by the IRGC, which was published by state media, it said that the crews of these tankers had been taken off the vessels before departure, and guidance of them for passage through a route that the IRGC described as “illegal” was handed over to Americans.

The IRGC noted that its navy had previously warned about the danger of passage through the mine-laid route in this strategic waterway, and that American attacks would not weaken the IRGC’s control over the Strait of Hormuz.

The IRGC warned shipping companies that if they handed over their vessels to the Americans and did not use the designated route, they would face “additional punishments.”

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) had previously announced that its forces had targeted dozens of military targets of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran.
